Rafael Allendesalazar, MLAB managing partner, discusses, in this Chillin’Competition post, the EU case law on the ne bis in idem principle in the wake of the Slovak Telecom Judgment and of Amazon’s appeal against the Commission’s decision to carve Italy out of its BuyBox investigation.
Professor Juan José Montero, of Counsel at MLAB, has just published together with Professor Matthias Finger, a book about the new network industries. Cutting through the confusion around the nature and implications of digitalization, this book explores the rise of the new digital networks, how they affect traditional infrastructures, and how they will eventually need to be regulated. The authors examine how digitalization affects infrastructures in telecommunications, transport, and energy, and how digital platforms establish themselves as a new network on top of and in addition to traditional ones.
Rafael Allendesalazar, MLAB managing partner, has contributed to the Anuario de la Competencia 2020 with the article «Digital Platforms and Big Data: Challenges for Competition Law; Special Reference to Merger Control (Plataformas digitales y big data: retos para el derecho de la competencia; especial referencia al control de concentraciones)».
